UPS InfoNotice®

Sorry, we missed you. Your driver left a notice because their first attempt at delivering or picking up your package was unsuccessful.

How To Read Your UPS InfoNotice

The notice your driver left can help steer you in the right direction to getting your package where it needs to go.

  • 1. Track Your Package Tracking your package is the easiest way to find out where your package is and what steps you can take. Use the UPS InfoNotice number or your original tracking number.
  • 2. Find Delivery Details Your driver may have ticked one or more of the boxes. These will tell you where your package may be, or when we’ll attempt to deliver it again. If your package has been redirected* or has specific delivery requirements**, we’ll let you know here.
  • 3. Release Your Package You can request that your driver leaves your package on the next delivery attempt as long as your package doesn’t require a signature from an adult 19+. Sign the InfoNotice in the space provided and place it back where the driver originally left the notice.

Delivery Attempt Information

UPS delivery days are Monday to Friday and Saturday (for Saturday Express service shipments), excluding UPS holidays. UPS may make up to three delivery attempts at its discretion at your address on regular UPS delivery days. After the final attempt, undeliverable packages will be returned to the sender.

To prevent your package from being returned or to make alternative delivery arrangements, track your package. If you want to pick up your package at a UPS Customer Centre, your request must be received by 7 p.m.

*Redirected to a UPS Pickup Location

If you’re unavailable when UPS attempts delivery at your address, UPS may deliver your package to a UPS Access Point® location near your home, where your package will be held for you to pick up for 7 calendar days. After 7 calendar days, your package will be returned to the sender as undeliverable. Before you go to the UPS Access Point location, track your package to confirm package location and that it’s ‘Awaiting Customer Pick-up’. When you track your package, you can also view the operating hours (weekend hours are available) and a map of where you will pick up your package.

One of the following identification requirements must be met when you pick up your package at a UPS Access Point® location:

Option 1: Present two government-issued photo IDs where the first and last name match the first and last name on the package. One of the IDs must include the full address (including the suite or apartment number, if applicable) matching the full address on the package.

Option 2: Present two government-issued photo IDs where the first and the last name matches the first and last name on the package. If the address on the IDs doesn't match the address on the package, please bring proof of residency that matches the address on the package, e.g. a current utility bill.

Option 3: Present two government-issued photo IDs and your shipper-provided package release code.*

*Note: While we'll notify you on shipment notifications or tracking status updates, if you need a code to pick up your package, your shipper will provide the code directly to you. The package release code is a 4-6 digit numerical code that is provided by the shipper and is different from the tracking number.
