Using a Thermal Printer for UPS Shipping and Return Labels

You can use several makes and models of thermal printers to conveniently print shipping labels on your own time.

Compatible Thermal Printer Models

Ups.com (including CampusShip) is compatible with most thermal label printers that will print 4" x 6" labels. Standard desktop laser and inkjet printers are also supported.

Worldship is compatible with most thermal label printers that will print 4" x 6" and 4" x 8" labels, as well as standard desktop laser and inkjet printers. Follow the documentation that comes with the printer to install the correct driver and for setup instructions.

UPS-provided printer drivers for Bixolon and Zebra can be found below.

Label printers are available for purchase through the UPS Digital Connections Program for qualified customers (US only).

Label printers are also available to rent from UPS by calling the UPS Customer Service Center at 1–800–742–5877.

What Should I Do If No Label Popup Window Appears on UPS.com?
  • If no label popup window appears, make sure popups from UPS.com are allowed by your browser.

  • You need the most recent version of Java to print on UPS.com. To install or update Java, go to www.java.com.

  • If you have the correct version of Java, clear your browser’s temporary internet files and try again.

  • Other suggested settings:

    • Digital signature: Click Always Trust Content From This Publisher
    • Security: Click Enable, then Run
