Note: This option is not available for Trade Direct processing.
Each time you run the End of Day process or close out UPS Mail Innovations shipments, UPS WorldShip transmits your shipment data to UPS. If your shipment data does not transmit, WorldShip tries to send it later, whenever you track a shipment, run the next End of Day process, or close out the next UPS Mail Innovations shipment.
You can also try to retransmit your shipment data electronically, or you can copy your shipment data onto a disk and give the disk to your UPS driver. Send the information electronically when possible. The information transmitted or copied to diskette includes:
Information about all shipments shipped that day.
Transmission messages documenting successful and failed electronic transfers of data for the last 14 days.
This information ensures that none of your shipment data is lost. In most cases, a single 1.44MB disk will take all the data.
To transmit your PLD electronically or copy your PLD onto a disk:
Under UPS Pickups or UPS Mail Innovations in the Shipment History window, select the shipment group for which you want to send data to UPS.
On the Tools tab, select More Tools and then Send to UPS. The Send Shipment Data to UPS window appears.
Do one of the following:
To transmit your PLD electronically, only complete step 4.
To copy your PLD onto a disk, complete steps 5 through 11.
Select Send Electronically and click the Continue button.
Select Copy to Diskette.
Select the drive you want to use (A: or B:) in the Diskette Drive box.
Click the Continue button. A message asks you to put a disk into the drive.
Place a blank and formatted disk in the drive.
Click the Continue button.
If necessary, repeat steps 8 and 9 until all shipment data is on disk.
Label the disks with the letters AUF, your shipper number, disk number (such as 1 of 2 and 2 of 2), and the date. Give the disk(s) to your UPS driver with your shipments.
