Use the Shipping tab in the System Preferences Editor window to set numerous shipping system preferences.
To set up your shipping system preferences:
On the Tools tab, select System Preferences and then Shipping. The Shipping tab in the System Preferences Editor window appears.
Under Address Options:
Select the Always Update Address Book check box if you want to save new or updated addresses in your Address Book. Clear this check box if you do not want to save new or updated addresses in your Address Book.
Click the down arrow in the Secondary Sort Displayed with Company or Name box and select the secondary sort criterion for the Company or Name box (located on the Ship To and Ship From tabs in the Shipping window, on the Alternate Ship From tab in the Shipper Editor window, and in the Address Book Editor window).
Click the down arrow in the First Entry Field box and select Company or Name or Customer ID to indicate the first active field on the Ship To and Ship From tabs.
Select the Automatically Select Ship Notification check box to automatically select the Quantum View Notify (for small packages) or Email Notify (for Freight shipments) shipment option when you enter an e-mail address on the Ship To tab. If you do not select this check box and then enter an e-mail address on the Ship To tab, WorldShip asks you if you want to select Ship Notification.
Under Pickup Date Selection, select the Manually Select Pickup Dates (Future Date Processing) check box to turn on the Pickup Date mode. Clear this check box to turn off Pickup Date mode. The "Disabling Future Date Processing will combine all pickups with weekday dates into a single Weekday Pending Pickup. All pickups with Saturday dates will be combined into a single Saturday Pending Pickup. Do you wish to continue?" message appears. Click the Yes button to turn off the Pickup Date mode.
Under Freight, click the down arrow in the Commodity Weight Type box and select the weight type (that is, Total Weight or Unit Weight) to enter in the Shipping window.
Under End of Day Processing, click the down arrow in the End of Day Default box and select the default End of Day processing type.
Select the With Return
Services check box if you want UPS WorldShip to automatically select
the With Return Services check box on the Service tab each time you
create a shipment. Clear this check box if you do not want WorldShip
to automatically select the With Return Services check box on the
Service tab each time you create a shipment. If you clear this check
box, you can still select the With Return Services check box on the
Service tab.
Note: The With Return Services option automatically applies
the Return Services type that you selected on the Return
Services tab in the Shipper Editor window.
Under UPS Express (NA1), click the up and down arrows to select a UPS Express (NA1) cut-off time.
Under Unit of Measure, select either Metric or Imperial.
Under Processing
Mode, select either Shipment Entry or Package Entry.
Tip: This option appears only if your workstation has
at least one Trade Direct shipper with a destination CFS
other than the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, or US Virgin Islands
or at least one non-Trade Direct Shipper with an origin other than
the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, or US Virgin Islands.
Under Handling Units:
Click the down arrow in the Apply Pallet Defaults box and do one of the following:
Select Add to provide a default value to apply when processing an Air or a Ground Freight shipment. If you select this option, enter the value in the Pallet Weight box.
Select
Subtract to provide a default value to apply when processing a Ground
(Freight Pricing) shipment. If you select this option, enter the value
in the Pallet Weight box.
Select None if you do not want to enter a default value.
Click the down arrow in the Apply Default Pallet Height box and do one of the following:
Select
Subtract to provide a default value to apply when processing a Ground
(Freight Pricing) shipment. If you select this option, enter the value
in the Pallet Height box.
Note: This option is available
only if at least one payor has a Density Rating contract. If you select
Subtract, the pallet height is subtracted from the handling unit.
Select None if you do not want to enter a default value.
Under Automatic Display
of Delivery Dates, select the US and/or Non-US check boxes as needed.
Tip: These options appear only if the Transit Times option is
available.
Under World Ease Options,
select the Notify After Printing Doc Box Label and Master Invoice
check box if you want to be notified each time a Doc Box label and
Master Invoice print for a master shipment. Clear this check box if
you do not want to be notified.
Tip: This option appears only if you have a contract for UPS
World Ease.
Click the Dry Ice Preferences button to display the Dry Ice window and select a Unit of Measure and a Regulation Set for domestic US 50 and Puerto Rico packages containing:
Less than or equal to 2.6 kgs of Dry Ice.
More than 2.6 kgs of Dry Ice for non-medical purposes.
More than 2.6 kgs of Dry Ice for medical purposes.
Under Ground Freight Pickup Request, select the Schedule Pickup during Freight Processing check box to schedule Ground Freight pickup while you process shipments.
Under Ground Freight Pickup Request, click the Pickup Notifications button to display the Pickup Notifications for LTL window and do the following:
Select the Pickup Notifications for LTL check box.
Enter the Pickup Reference Number in the Pickup Reference Number box.
Click the down arrow in the Pickup Reference Type box and select a type. See Pickup Reference Type Codes for UPS Ground Freight.
Enter the name in the Company Name box.
Enter an
e-mail address in the Failed E-mail Address box. See Validate
E-mail Addresses.
Tip: If you type an e-mail address on the Ship To or Pickup
From tab, UPS WorldShip automatically shows that address in the Failed
E-mail Address box.
Enter up to five e-mail addresses in the E-mail Address boxes. For each e-mail address you enter, select the appropriate Notification Type(s) check boxes. See Notification Type Codes for UPS Ground Freight.
Under Trade Direct Options,
select the Automatically Associate Shipments to Consolidated Movements
check box to automatically associate child shipments to consolidated
movements.
Tip: Automatic association is used for automatic batch
processing. See Process Shipments Automatically.
Under Trade Direct Options, select a preference to indicate what should occur after you process a child shipment, including:
Add Another Child Shipment to the Current Consolidated Movement to add another child shipment to the presently selected consolidated movement. UPS WorldShip maintains the association between the previously selected consolidated movement and the next child shipment.
Select a Different Movement to select a different consolidated movement. The UPS Trade Direct Manager window appears so that you can select a consolidated movement.
Return to the Shipping Window with No Active Consolidated Movement to return to the Shipping window. WorldShip does not maintain the association between the previously selected consolidated movement and the next child shipment.
Tip: This option appears only if you have a contract for UPS Trade Direct.
Do one of the following:
Click the Apply button to accept the changes made on any System Preferences tab and keep the System Preferences Editor window open.
Click the OK button to accept the changes made on any System Preferences tab and close the System Preferences Editor window.
Click the Cancel button to remove changes made on any System Preferences tab and close the System Preferences Editor window.
