If you have a UPS account number, the fuel surcharge will be included on your weekly bill. If you are an occasional UPS customer and do not receive a weekly bill, a fuel surcharge will be included in your charges.
The following table illustrates the Fuel Surcharge history:
Effective Start Date | All Domestic Express Services | All International Express Services & Expedited Service |
---|
UPS uses an index-based surcharge that is adjusted monthly and applied to all shipments on the invoice. The surcharge applicable in each month is determined based on the U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) price for kerosene-type jet fuel reported by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) two weeks prior to the first Monday of each month, rounded to the nearest cent. For example, the surcharge applied in February 2017 is based on the rounded figure of the (USGC) Jet Fuel Price reported by the EIA for the week of January 23, 2017.
The Europe Domestic Air/International Air will be set in relation to the following table:
At Least | But Less Than | Domestic Services | International Services |

Note: Fuel surcharge percentages and amounts, associated trigger points and methods of calculation are subject to change without notice.
Fuel Surcharge percentages and thresholds are subject to change without prior notice. Regardless of EIA reported average fuel prices or the table above, the actual fuel surcharge percentages posted will apply for the periods specified.
For the reported jet fuel pricing information, please see the EIA Gulf Coast (USGC) Jet Fuel Prices. If the reported fuel pricing information is delayed, UPS may use reported fuel pricing information from an earlier week.
