How to Return a Package

You can return a package in a few easy steps. We’ll walk you through the process.

Do You Have a Return Label?

If your shipper included a return label, you’ll need to attach it to your package.

  • Your shipper may have included a label in your package, or instructions how to print one.
  • You may be able to contact your shipper to have a label sent to you.
  • If you already have a label from your shipper, affix it to your package.
  • Once your label is attached, your package is ready for drop off at a convenient UPS location.

Don’t Have a Return Label? No Problem.

If your shipper didn’t include a label, you’ll need to create one.

Help! I don’t have a printer.

If you don’t have a printer, you can:

  • Scan and print by mobile barcode at a UPS location; or
  • Email the label to yourself (or a friend) to print later

Prepare Your Package

Pack up your return in a sturdy and undamaged box.

  • If you’re recycling a box, remove all old labels and barcodes.
  • Seal your box with plastic or nylon tape at least two inches wide. Don’t use duct tape.
  • Wrap items separately with tags, packaging materials and cushioning.
  • Keep in mind, there are additional rules for special-care and prohibited items.
  • You’ll need to know the dimensions and weight of your box.

Help! I don’t know how to weigh my package.

Simple solution:

  • Weigh yourself while holding the package, and then weigh yourself alone. Subtract one from the other.
