On the Service tab in the Shipping window, you must specify shipment and package shipping services for the shipment.
To specify an Air or a Ground Freight shipment, select the Freight check box. See Process an Air or a Ground Freight Shipment.
To specify a UPS World Ease shipment, select the World Ease Shipment check box.
Tips:
This check box appears only if you have a contract for World Ease.
This check box becomes inactive if you select a regular shipper in the Shipper box.
To specify the service type, click the down arrow in the UPS Service box and select a service.
To specify the Saturday Delivery shipment option, select the Saturday Delivery check box. Your selection appears on both the Service and Options tabs, and you can change your selection on either tab.
If you selected the Automatic Display of Transit Times system preference (see Set Shipping System Preferences), the Transit Time appears. If you need the shipment to arrive sooner, click Need It There Sooner. The Need It There Sooner window appears, which displays all available UPS services that would arrive sooner and the cost for each service.
Tips:
The transit time does not appear for Return Services shipments and shipments with a USPS service.
If another UPS service is not available, the "Transit time for the shipment is not available at this time" message appears on the status bar.
To specify that the shipment contains documents only, select the Documents Only check box.
To specify that the shipment contains Goods Not in Free Circulation, select the Goods Not in Free Circulation check box.
Type a description of the goods in the General Desc. of Goods box as required.
To specify the bill-to information, click the down arrows in the Bill To boxes and select who will pay for the transportation, duty, and taxes.
Tips:
If you select Third Party in a Bill To box, the Third Party Address window appears. In the Third Party Address window, type information about the third party. Once you supply this information, the ... button appears on the Service tab to indicate you have selected a third party. Click this button to view or change the third-party information. See Address Guidelines.
To combine the transportation and duty bills for one payer, select the Split Duty and Tax check box.
To specify the Return Services shipment option, select the With Return Services check box. If selected, the UPS Service box defaults to Ground and the Return Services type defaults to the type selected on the Return Services tab in the Shipper Editor window.
Tip: To set a system preference for this check box, see Set Shipping System Preferences.
To specify the package weight:
Note: If a weight threshold applies for a Letter/Envelope package type shipment, supply the weight of the letter/envelope.
If you are using an electronic scale or dimensioner, weigh the package. The weight appears in the Package Weight box.
Tip: Scale and dimensioner support is not available in some countries.
If you are not using an electronic scale or dimensioner, type the weight in the Package Weight box.
Tip: See Specify the Shipping Details.
If in Shipment Entry processing mode, UPS WorldShip selects the All Packages Identical check box to indicate that all packages are identical in weight, dimensions, and shipment options, and divides the total shipment weight by the number of packages. If all packages are not identical, clear this check box to process the shipment in Package Entry processing mode.
To specify the package type, click the down arrow in the Package Type box and select a package type. Your selection appears in the Package Type box on both the Service and Detail tabs, and you can change your selection on either tab.
Tip: Both UPS and custom package types appear in alphabetical order.
To specify the package dimensions, enter the dimensions in the Length, Width, and Height boxes. Your entries appear on both the Service and Detail tabs, and you can change your entries on either tab.
Type the appropriate amount in the Declared Value box, as needed.
To specify two reference numbers, type your customized numbers in the Reference Number 1 and Reference Number 2 boxes. Your entries appear on both the Service and Reference tabs (on which you can enter three more reference numbers), and you can change your entries on either tab. See Specify the Reference Numbers.
